Bruce Gene Davis

Bruce Gene Davis, born on July 13, 1944, in, New Mexico, breathed his last on November 21, 2023, in Bloomfield, New Mexico. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

Bruce began his illustrious career in the late 70's when he joined GEO Chemical Servey as a construction and soil sampling specialist. However, Bruce's path took an exciting turn when he and Peggy embarked on a new adventure together. They took over ACE Inc. and became integral members of Bar-F Enterprises as stalwart drivers from 1980 to 2005.

But Bruce was more than just a hardworking professional. He possessed a deep passion for hunting, fishing, and football. These were the activities that ignited his spirit and brought him immense joy. Whether it was out in the wilderness tracking game or cheering fervently for his favorite football team, Bruce found solace and happiness through these pursuits.

Despite his many accomplishments and professional endeavors, Bruce's most treasured role was that of a devoted husband and father. He was blessed with an unwavering love for Peggy Davis, his wife and soul mate. Bruce and Peggy were married back in 1967. They have been married for 56 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with shared adventures and everlasting memories.

Jason Davis, Bruce's beloved son, held a special place in his heart. They were not only father and son but also fishing and hunting buddies who reveled in each other's company during countless outdoor expeditions. Similarly, Bruce's daughter Shawnna Baird and her husband Rick were ardent football fans like her father, they all shared a unique bond with him as they cheered on their favorite teams together. Bruce and Rick developed a strong friendship.

Bruce was known not just for his professional achievements but also for his kind-hearted nature. He exuded patience, love, and kindness in every interaction he had with others. These qualities endeared him to all who knew him and made him an exceptional human being.

In addition to Peggy, Jason, and Shawnna, Bruce is survived by a loving family that spans multiple generations. His adoring grandchildren include Alisha Hawkins (Roland), Ryan Gatheright, Miranda Gatheright, Kimberly Reid, and Bruce Reid. The joy of his life was amplified even further with the presence of his great-granddaughters and grandson, Olivia Hawkins and Penelope Hawkins, and Austin Davis. They each held a special place in his heart.

Bruce's passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill in the lives of those dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert "Chic" and Beulah Faye Davis, grandparents Spreadey & Etta Walker, Niles & Georgia Davis, as well as his sister Nyla Carol Davis. His absence will be deeply felt not only by his immediate family but also by his extended family members.

As we bid farewell to Bruce Gene Davis today, let us remember him for the remarkable man he was - a devoted husband, a loving father, and a kind soul. May his legacy continue to inspire us all to live life with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for our loved ones. Rest in peace, Bruce.
