Deborah A Carlton

September 18, 1951 — January 28, 2019

“Debbie” to her many friends passed away on January 28th after a valiant struggle with cancer. Her bubbly personality and down to earth attitude charmed everyone she met. The affection she engendered wasn’t limited to people. Every animal she met instantly trusted her, plants flourished around her and flowers bloomed.

She was born on September 18, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to Billy and Betty Head and never stopped moving. She was active early every morning with her projects or traveling someplace else to meet new people and grow friendships and flowers.

Debbie graduated from Borger High School in 1969 and attended Bauder College in Arlington, Texas. She followed her family first to Carlsbad and then settled in the Farmington area. Wherever she worked her easygoing manner seemed to lead her to dealing with the public. She found a home for many years at Evergreen Nursery that combined her skills and interests and her love for nature.

Deborah Ann was the result of a most loving union of 64 years and preceded in death by her parents Billy W. and Betty Y. Head, daughter Niki and niece Matilda.

She is survived by her love Tim Reynolds, little brother Billy W. (Ruyu) Head Jr., daughters Kimberly Y. (Rob) Herrera and Carrie D. (Martin) Lamb; son Scotty Carlton; grandchildren Lyle (Meagen), Mariah and Ryan Gilday, Justin, Sean, Adrian, Chloe, Julian and Braxton Lamb, Kaylee and Pamela; nephews Austin (Miranda) Maxwell, ShiGe, Dylan and nieces Rhiannon and Emily.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on February 16, 2019 at San Juan Country Club, 5775 Country Club Rd, Farmington, NM, with reception and dinner to follow.

Deborah’s care is entrusted to Alternative Choice Funeral and Cremation, 804 N. Dustin Ave., 505-325-9611. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at www.serenityandcompany.com.
