Frances “Luella” Benfield

Luella Benfield, 74, left us peacefully on February 18, 2019 surrounded by her husband, son and daughter.

Luella was born on September 6, 1944 in Andrews, TX. She married Glen “Benny” Benfield on January 2, 1963. She was a graduate of Aztec High School in 1964. Luella led a full life where she loved to follow her kids, grandkids and 2 great-grandkids. She also loved the mountains of Southern Colorado and the desert of Southern Arizona. She worked for the San Juan Co. Sheriff’s department, where she worked for 3 consecutive sheriff’s over a 22 year period.

Luella is survived by her husband Glen “Benny” Benfield; son, Robert (Denise) Benfield; daughter, Sherri (Dale) Patterson; granddaughters, Shelbey Benfield and Hailey Patterson; grandsons, Jordan Benfield and Matthew Patterson; great-grandchildren, Jayden Benfield, Baylie Patterson; brothers Claude Drennan and Wayne Pride and sister-in-law Genna.

Luella is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Izora Pride and sister-in-law Darlene Drennan.
