Paul Pacheco

March 30, 1928 — June 17, 2019

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away, peacefully, on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Paul was born March 30, 1928 to Eliu and Josephina Pacheco in San Acacio, CO.

Paul was a legend in the rivers and lakes throughout NM, CO, and beyond, he was a great fly fisherman. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, and writing poetry. He was a proud veteran, serving in the Army-Air Force as a Radio Operator but, his proudest moment was when he fixed the radio on General Eisenhower's airplane.

Paul earned his Bachelor and Master degrees at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO. He started his career in education as a school principal in Newcomb, NM and continued as principal in various schools throughout the Central Consolidated District, eventually earning the the award for "Principal of the Year". He retired after 29 years in the business of educating children.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 68 years, Sylvia Pacheco, son, Noel Pacheco, wife Teresa from Carlsbad, NM, daughters Angela Windsor from Cottonwood, AZ, Alicia Nunez husband Robert from Rio Rancho, NM; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister, Joe Pacheco from Cookville, TN, Silas Pacheco from Rio Rancho, NM, Irene(Renee) Wersch from Littleton, CO and Tony Pacheco wife Gloria from Littleton, CO. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Eliu and Josephina Pacheco, his daughter Pamela Pacheco, son Anthony Pacheco and sister Charlotte Garza.

Cremation will take place followed by a graveside service, to be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, PO Box 414238, Boston, MA 02241-4238, online at themmrf.org or by phone at 203-299-0464
